Still Life

“That’s how I’d like to go. Peacefully in a big bowl of fruit, except there would be fresh figs instead of mangoes.”

That was my good friend Nancy Baptiste’s recent reaction to my 2003 photograph titled “Still Life” that I thought would be appropriate for this months group show at Brews.

This month I invited nine other artists to put their take on the classic still life. Denise Ryan, Adrian Frost, Mary Springer, Ron Lutz, Diana Harvey, Betty Johnson, Dayton Castleman, Jerri Stevens, and the late great Mary Sims have all contributed a piece to fit this months theme.

Opening reception for Still Life is tonight from 6 to 9 and is part of Eureka Springs’ last Second Saturday Gallery Stroll for the season.

Brews, the new coffee house and craft beer joint is located at the corner of Spring and Pine St. across from the E.S. post office, and all are invited to attend.
