Tuesday morning I met with members of the Holiday Island Art Guild to talk about my art and the creative process and am happy to report all went well. No underwear anxiety dreams the night before. Guild members could not have been more welcoming and immediately put me at ease. I brought in several pieces of work, from the very old, to the very recent, to chat about. Special thanks go out to Guild members and friends, Mariellen Griffith (pictured) and Jay Vrecenak, who took this pic, and who made her special Hummingbird cake for the occasion. Jay is sweeter than her cake.
My penchant for red wine must proceed me because at 11:15 a.m., after the talk, a bottle of a very nice Pinot Noir was offered.
Pictured is one of my early dyed canvas pieces called “Feeding Frenzy” (The Last Supper) It was part of a series based on biblical stories. It’s hard to believe I did these almost 30 years ago.
