Black and White

POSY – The Next Season, is the continuation of a series of photographs of flowers in vases that open’s this Saturday at the Norberta Philbrook Gallery. Six of the new 18 photographs on display are in black and white, inspired by the late photographer Robert Maplethorpe, whose black and white images of calla lilies have become iconic. I was neither brave or stupid enough to include a calla lily in the series, but wanted to try and capture the essence of those classic silver gelatin prints.

The opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Norberta Philbrook Gallery at 34 N. Main from 6 til 9. All are welcome.
