As the purported first woman, Eve would have to be the artist’s first model, and the muse and inspiration for countless paintings after arriving via Adam’s rib.
This month at BREWS I’ve invited local artists to participate in “The Figure” – a group show that examines the human form.
Larry Mansker, Carol Saari, Drew Gentle, Julie Kahn Valentine, Cynthia Kresse, Dan Morris, Mary Smith, Mary Springer, JD Davis, John Willer, Stella Ipswitch, Sarah Scissors, Robert Beauford, JR Jones and Jerri Stevens will each give us their take on the classic nude.
Making a special appearance at the artist opening reception will be EVE, aka Lilah Stiger, who will don a nude body suit and fig leaf and be canvas for anyone inspired to take brush in hand.
Brushes and non- toxic fabric paint of various colors will be available for anyone to play.
The exhibit runs the entire month of August at BREWS with an opening reception Thursday, July 30th from 5 to 8 p.m.
All are welcome.
BREWS is located at 2 Pine St. across the street from the Eureka Springs post office
Pictured is the lovely Ms Stiger who played muse to my Graven Images installation at The Space in March 2013.
