“If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere” – But what if I can’t?
We are in New York City to set up for the Hester Street Fair in the lower East Side of Manhattan to hopefully sell a bunch of up-cycled, bleach painted and hand dyed denim – a collection I’ve been working on for the last several months.
I’m full of excitement and dread, and it’s hard not to have expectations, which everyone knows, can set you up for grave disappointment.
NYC was my partner’s idea, who said, “So what if we don’t sell a thing, it will be an adventure.”
So this morning, with looming thunderstorms threatening the city, we head out to set up, with less fear in my heart and more hope in my head.
We either sell some stuff, or spend the evening in a NYC Laundromat drying a whole mess of soaking wet denim.
Either way, we are building memories, together.
